It’s always exciting to introduce food to your baby. At this age you should still make sure your still feeding your baby breast milk or formula and the iron-fortified cereal, plus now is the time to start adding fruits and veggies in their diet. Remember to always check with your pediatrician before starting any new food. Choose 1 fruit or veggie, and each week Introduce a new one at a time, with at least three days in between to make sure your baby\'s not allergic to something.If you feel they are allergic to something, stop immediately and try to introduce it in a later time. Some examples of pureed or strained fruits such as banana, pears, applesauce and peaches. Some examples of pureed or strained vegetables such as avocado, well-cooked carrots, squash, and sweet potato. Hint: Single servings of puree can be frozen in an ice cube tray, then when frozen place a plastic bag and seal well. Sweet Potato, Apple & Rice 1 Apple 1 sweet potato 1 tablespoon rice. 1. Chop apple and Sweet Potato and place in pot with rice. 2. Just cover with water and bring to boil. 3. Gently simmer till tender. Drain and puree Rice fruit Medley Any pureed fruit rice 1. Cook a small amount of rice and mash. 2. Add Pureed fruit and mix well. Fruit Cocktail & Rice 3 teaspoons rice cereal 1 teaspoon cooked pureed apple, pear and ripe mashed banana breast milk, formula or boiled water 1. Combine cereal and fruit with required amount of milk or water. Creamy Carrots 1/2 medium carrot 1 tbsp Baby Rice 8 tbsp baby\'s usual milk (breast milk or formula) 1. Peel and dice carrot. 2. Place in a pot. Cover in a little water and simmer until very tender. 3. Drain. Push through sieve or puree. 4. Mix with Baby Rice and milk. Blend well. Serve warm.
