New service will offer music recommendations
Twitter is rumoured to be preparing to launch a new music streaming service.
The micro blogging site plans to launch its service on Friday, sources confirm.
Twitter has recently purchased online music service, We Are hunted.
The BBC reported that the new service will likely offer personal recommendations to users, via a dedicated app.
Since it first opened in 2006 Twitter has accumulated 200million active users worldwide. Over 175million tweets are sent every day. The music industry estimates that the online streaming market is now worth £49m, making the launch of Twitter Music a possibly market changing proposal.
