Egypt will receive from Belgium Tuesday morning a human skeleton that dates back to 35,000 years BC, a statement by the Media Office of the Egyptian Embassy in Brussels said Monday.

"Nazlat Khater" skeleton will be delivered under the patronage of Egyptian Ambassador in Brussels Ihab Fawzi, with a representative from the Egyptian Antiquities Ministry attending.

The skeleton was in the possession of a Belgian Leuven University mission that had worked during 1980s in a number of Upper Egyptian villages, located in Tahta city of Souhag Governorate, the statement said.

The mission then had taken the skeleton both for restoration and conducting studies, it noted.

The skeleton is very important with regard to studies on the evolution of human race, the statement said.

Delivery of the skeleton comes within the context of Egypt's keenness on recovering all its treasures abroad, especially following the June 30 Revolution, the statement concluded.
