Egyptian ambassador to China honored by Chinese friendship festival

Egyptian Ambassador to China Magdi Amer was honored during the 19th annual Chinese Friendship and Culture Festival.

The festival honors figures who have prominent role in deepening friendship between China and the other world states.

The Egyptian-Chinese friendship shield was granted to Egyptian plenipotentiary Ayman Ali Othman on behalf of the Egyptian ambassador, who is currently in Cairo.

Th ambassador was among the delegation accompanying Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to Cairo that wound up on Friday.

The committee organizing the festival also granted the friendship shield to cultural counselor Hussein Ibrahim, head of cultural and educational relations office at the Egyptian embassy, in recognition of his efforts in boosting cultural relations and friendly ties between Egypt and China.

A number of Chinese officials and diplomatic corps members were attending the event.

Also, several ambassadors and cultural counselors were honored during the festival, including those representing Russia, Indonesia, Kuwait and Bahrain.
