Prime Minister Sherif Ismail reviewed with Antiquities Minister Mamdouh el Damaty the progress in the establishment of the Egyptian Grand Museum, Cabinet Spokesman Hossam el Qawish said on Monday.
This came during a meeting held between the premier and Damaty, El Qawish added.
Ismail instructed antiquities minister to follow up the workflow at the Egyptian Grand Museum and other museums nationwide.
Also, the prime minister directed el Damaty to follow up the restoration operations being implemented on various archaeological sites, calling for the provision of all necessary forms of support to maintain the Egyptian antiquities and heritage, he asserted.
For his part, the antiquities minister provided an overview of the Egyptian Grand Museum and the general layout of the project's area that will include the development of all roads, entrances to and exits of the museum.
The Grand Museum will has a positive impact on the surrounding area as it will help boost tourism, revive the economy and strengthen the promotion of all activities and services related to the museum, the minister stressed.
Furthermore, El Damaty submitted a report on the progress in the restoration work and the current efforts to transfer artifacts to an archaeological center at the Egyptian Grand Museum, underlining that 100,000 artifacts were transferred to the museum.
