Glass panels were installed for windows of the ground floor of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Mustafa Amin said Sunday.

He added that efforts are underway to install glass panels for the upper floor as soon as possible.

Some windows of the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square were broken in the aftermath of Saturday's car bomb blast that targeted the Italian Consulate in downtown Cairo, killing one person and injuring nine others.
