Egypt's Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa

Chairman of the Islamic High Council of Australia (Darulfatwa) Salim Alwan on Tuesday hailed the vital role played by Azhar envoys to illustrate the tolerant image of Islam.

During a meeting with Egypt's Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa, he called for boosting Islamic Call and scientific cooperation and increasing the number of Azhar envoys to his country to confront radical fatwas and extremist ideas.

For his part, Gomaa pledged to meet the Australian Darulfatwa needs of scholars, envoys and publications issued by Awqaf Ministry and the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.
