A high-level Indonesian delegation led by Indonesian presidential adviser meets Monday with Azhar Undersecretary Abbas Shoman on behalf of Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb, along with Awqaf Minister Mokhtar Gomaa and Egyptian Mufti Shawqi Allam.
The talks will focus on means to boost aspects of cooperation between Egypt and Indonesia along with a number of Islamic issues of mutual interest in addition to the latest developments on the Islamic, Arab and international arenas, Media Secretary at the Indonesian embassy in Cairo Amir Sherif told MENA.
Sherif asserted that there is concord in Egyptian-Indonesian stance towards regional issues topped by rejecting religious extremism, eradicating terrorist groups and spreading the right teachings of Islam.
The two-day visit comes as part of initiatives of the Indonesian government to contribute to finding solutions to Mideast issues and playing an effective regional role in its capacity as member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
