Aswan - MENA
Director General of Aswan and Nubia archaeological area Nasr Salama dismissed Tuesday news reports about the fall of a historic stone bloc from the Temple of Kom Ombo.
Earlier reports said a sandstorm that hit the ancient city of Aswan on Monday caused the fall of a small stone bloc on the upper doorsill of the second hall of the Temple of Kom Ombo.
Salama said the damaged item was not considered historic, adding that a restoration team and archaeologists were able to fix the fallen item and return it to its original place.
Also a hanging ceiling, made of cork, that fall in the Crocodiles Museum of Kom Ombo was fixed, he said.
