Sheikh Mohamed Hussein, the Grand Mufti of Palestine and al Quds, has condemned a plan by Israel to build a synagogue, only 200 meters away from Al Aqsa Mosque.

In a press release on Wednesday, Sheikh Hussein warned of the danger of encircling Al Aqsa Mosque with a number of synagogues and biblical gardens.

Al Quds city is an Islamic city with an Arab identity, he said, adding that the Israeli occupation cannot eradicate this truth.
