Gaza Strip security forces arrested on Thursday a person for stealing a statue of late Palestinian President Yasser Arafat, Gaza Interior Ministry said.

The statue was stolen from then presidency headquarters in Gaza Strip in 2007.

The defendant confessed that he stole the statue and hid it in someone else's house.

The statue is made of bronze and costs thousands of dollars.
