The Works Affairs Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works, Municipalities and Urban Planning Ahmed Al Khayyat received at his office representative to Muharraq’s Governorate’s 7th Constituency Mrs. Sabah Al Dosari, in the presence of a number of engineers from the Ministry.

During the meeting, reference was made to the different needs of the Constituency, which included the development of the pumping station located along the water outlet and storm water drainage network in Block 243; aiming to permanently solve the issue of storm water accumulation in the area.

Also, the meeting also referred the Ministry’s emergency plan and preparation for the upcoming rainy season, and the work mechanism between the Ministry and other Government sectors and also amongst the Ministry’s various sectors. Al Khayyat explained that the Ministry will handle sewerage and storm water drainage networks along the main highways, while internal roads are to be handled by Municipalities Affairs; in coordination with the general managers of each Municipality, the Capital Municipality and Municipalities Affairs Undersecretary. 

Al Dosari referred to storm water accumulation locations, specifically Block 244, where she urged the Ministry to handle Block 244 the way Block 243 was handled.
