Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al Abadi will visit Russia at the end of May on an invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin, Iraqi Ambassador to Russia Ismieal Shafiq Muhsin said on Tuesday.
In statements to Russian Rossiyskaya Gazeta, he said that Iraq appreciates military and political support provided by Russia to help fight Daesh fighters and combat international terrorism.
The Iraqi premier is expected to discuss with Russian officials a number of issues, including ways of boosting bilateral military cooperation, he added.
