Cairo - Arab Today
Super Size Me, a 2003 documentary that takes a very critical view of fast food culture in America, will be screened at the Arab Digital Expression Foundation (ADEF) on Tuesday 3 March.
The Oscar nominated documentary is Morgan Spurlock's debut as a director.
Spurlock subjected his body to three McDonald's meals every day for 30 consecutive days to shed light on the mega restaurant's effect on consumers' psychology, physique and general health.
The film is shocking, informative and meant to swing the spotlight on to some of the reasons behind increased levels of obesity in the US.
During the course of making the movie, Spurlock gained more than 11 kg, his cholesterol levels increased and strain was put on his liver. He later went on a strict diet to lose the weight he amassed during the experiment.
