Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the operator and managing body of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), honoured Marhaba, the meet-and-greet service and lounge provider, for its many years of service at BIA.
The company, part of UAE-based Dnata, one of the world's largest air services providers, had been present at the airport since 2012.
Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of BAC, Engineer Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed said: "We are very grateful for all the years of service that Marhaba has provided to our airport’s passengers. Marhaba was the first meet and greet service at our airport, and has played an important role in the journey of its success. We wish Marhaba and Dnata the best of luck in their future endeavors."
Dnata Vice President – UAE and Regional Business Development, Raed Younes added: "Our partnership with the BIA has been a highly productive one. We are proud to be the ones to have been there from the beginning, and are very happy with what we have accomplished during this time. We look forward to better and bigger challenges, and remain committed to the goals that we have set out to achieve since our launch."
This year the newly registered Hala Bahrain will take over the meet and greet function, including providing CIP (Commercially Important Person) handling services.
BAC is the authority responsible for enhancing BIA and increasing the airport’s contribution to the local economy in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030. In its operational role, BAC is responsible for elevating the airport’s operations, infrastructure and services. This is set to improve BIA’s capabilities and cater to the growing number of passengers as well as the changing demands of stakeholders.
