A car bomb exploded in the Libyan capital Tripoli on late Saturday, near the Italian embassy, according to a statement from the local branch of Red Crescent.

The identity of those who executed the operation has not been known, as no one claimed responsibility for the attack.

According to local sources, the attack led to limited damages as it hit a number of cars that were parking in the area. The explosion was near Libya's Monistry of Planning and Egypt's closed embassy.
