Casablanca - Arab Today
The Ibn Batouta Prize for travel literature (edition 2016), launched since 2003 by the Arab center of geographical literature “Irtyad El Afaq”, was awarded on Sunday in Casablanca to eight writers, including Moroccan Khaled Touzani for his book “Le voyage et la fascination merveilleuse” (travel and marvelous fascination).
On Behalf of the jury members, Khaldoun Chamaa handed the prize to Khaled Touzani (Morocco), Iraqi Latifa Dlimi, Shaker Laibi and Faleh Abdeljabbar, Ghadir Abou Snina (Palestine-Nicaragua), Aissa Bkhiti (Algeria), Aïd Zaid Rouidia (Jordan) and Saudi Arij Bent Mohammed Ben Soulaimane Souilem. There were 52 manuscripts from 11 Arab countries, a record in the history of the prize, according to Khaldoun Chamaa.
