A number of Arab superstars suffered from addiction for years, as they have been prosecuted and a number of them were sentenced to imprisonment, while they managed to get rid of addiction and returned to their lives and arts.
In this report, we review some of them, including the great artist Farouk al-Fishawi, who falled in the late 1980s in the addiction, as his wife, Egyptian actress Somaia Al Alfy expressed her support for him for years until he received treatment to return to his drama works quickly.
Also Egyptian actor Hatem Zo Al-Faqar was arrested many times by the Egyptian security authorities on drug abuse, while he received treatment and participated in a number of works that are considered turning points in his career as an actor.
Egyptian young actor Mustafa Haridy also said that he faced the challenge of addiction, and revealed that he managed to cure himself inside a mosque. After his treatment, he managed to achieve notable success in different cinema works, including “Magnon Amira”, “Morgan Ahmed Morgan” and “Omar & Salma”.
Egyptian superstar Saeed Saleh also was one of the major actors who had fallen in addiction and he was arrested by the Egyptian security forces on charge of addiction, while he returned to his career and participated in a number of works, including “Alzheimer 's” film with Egyptian superstar Adel Imam.
