Kazem al Saher   Kazem al Saher has been a household name in the entertainment industry for years now, despite many believing that his music career would have ended by now, especially with all the downturns the Arab world has been recently experiencing. However, al Saher held onto his artistic identity and with people’s love and his continuous talent, people managed gain increasing confidence in him which kept him from disappearing from the music scene, and instead making the lyrics of his music into wisdoms people live by. Arabstoday met with the huge star in Beirut for a quick chat; just before he was due to meet with Rotana’s President Salem Al Hindi. Kazem began by telling us about his musical collaboration with Majida El Roumi through their duet for a song titled “I promised you.” He said that “Majida has one of those voices that take me into a dream world, I’m delighted to work with her especially that we have mutual trust between us which fuels collaborating together.”
Kazem said that he is in Beirut to appear on a TV show in addition to fulfilling work commitments and meeting some friends. He told us that Lebanon is very dear to his heart as he considers it as a second home to him and that he can never forget Beirut’s beautiful evenings and kind people.
The artist said that he look at the Arab revolution how a father looks at his children. Kazem said that he remembers the suffering of his people in Iraq who paid a high price for their freedom, adding that he believes that Arab nations need to take Iraq and Palestine as an example and learn from their mistakes. Al Saher prayed that all martyrs in the revolution go to heaven, as they are the pride of their people.
“Abu Wessam,” as he is known as by his friends, said that he is extremely happy with his grandson as “each father regains the feeling of fatherhood through his grandchildren, and I am living this stage now and enjoying every minute of it, it’s so much fun and very beautiful.”
Finally, Kazem denied that he had met Lebanese artists in Lebanon to give them music composed by him. The thought surprised him as he had never done such thing before.
