Each year ahead of the holiday season, beauty brands reissue their classic items in giftable limited editions. In keeping with this tradition, Dolce & Gabbana has released collector's editions of its The One and The One for Men fragrances, along with special edition makeup items.
The One is decked out in red for the holidays, while The One for Men wears dark brown. Each flacon is decorated with a reproduction of an ancient gold coin, a motif also seen in the Dolce & Gabbana 2014 ready-to-wear collections. The coin is said to be a symbol of the label's native Sicily, with its ancient Greek heritage. Each coin represents a Greek divinity in profile -- a goddess for The One and a god for the men's version.
To complement these collector's editions, the brand has also presented makeup items with the same ancient Greek theme. Special editions of The Bronzer and The Illuminator (€59/around $73 each) come in powder compacts pressed into the profile of Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom. The new line also includes The Shine lipstick in Pure Red (€35/around $43), along with The Nail polish in Lover (€23.50/around $29). Finally, for eyes like a goddess, Dolce & Gabbana offers The Perfect mono eyeshadows in two colors: Pure Gold and Pure Bronze (€29.90/around $37 each).
The powders and the lipstick have taken on special festive packaging in gold and lacquered red.
The Dolce & Gabbana collector's edition makeup is available now at a limited selection of department stores. The One Collector's Edition (50ml for €87/around $108 or 75ml for €116/around $144) and The One for Men Collector's Edition (50ml for €65/around $81 or 100ml for €90/around $112) are available at select perfume counters.
