Not one of the best collections Donna Karan Fall 2012 collection modelled at Fashion Week in New York. In an open shed on the street, with a New York taxi as a backdrop, Donna Karan sets the tone for a very urban collection where black and leather dominate. She offered long coats with strong shoulders and lapel collars, and a riding jacket paired with pinstripe mohair pants. Skirts and dresses were mostly long with sharp-cut knife pleats for movement. Tops were mostly slim and tailored with nothing frilly, not even when she added sparkle. There was a hint of a retro Twenties gangster vibe in both the masculine and feminine silhouettes, especially the accessories including Oxfords and spat booties.
