More than 500 surgeons and medical doctors from various countries Thursday held their "Doctors for Humanity" forum which coincides with the UAE's celebration of the Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, marked on the 19th day of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The forum is aimed at promoting the culture of humanitarian work among medical staff. It will provide a platform for launching new humanitarian initiatives.
A documentary was played at the opening of the forum to highlight the humanitarian legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan who passed 11 years ago.
The forum highlighted the values of proactive humanitarian work and charity and the importance of raising awareness about voluntary work.
Present at the forum were Dr Adel Al Shameri, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative, and Dr. Reem Osman, CEO of the Saudi-German Hospital-Dubai.
