Sharjah’s Economic Excellence network (ShjSEEN) is set to kick off the “Pinktober” art Exhibition on Sunday. The innovative event, hosted by Sharjah`s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), marks the International Month for Breast Cancer Awareness, and is set to run until November 3rd.
The fund raising event, in line with internationalcommemorationsacross the world every October, aims to increase attention and support for the awareness, early detection and treatment, as well as palliative care of this disease, mainly among the female community.
The four-day exhibition will see the participation of well-known artists, such as Saeed Arjomand, Marian Al-Zoabi, Khalodiz, Dina Al-Saadoun, Dimitri Karbonov, who will display their graffiti drawings - scribbled, scratched, or painted illicitly for the public.
Also, a charitable auction, selling art collectibles and antiques, will be held at the venue, with the participation of numerous fashion designers.
In addition, companies and institutions in support of the campaign will take part in the event, including: The Pink Caravan Campaign, Nivea, Zulekha Hospital, Velvet Magazine, Ghawa Gahwa, IGGI, Touk Al-Yasmeen Flowers& chocolates, 320 Natural Cosmetics, Jamba Juice, Ghanag Beauty Cener, SOH, and Cold Press Juice company.
In support of the campaign, Sharjah’s Chamber and Commerce Building will alsoturn pink. It will also launch a media awareness campaign, through broadcasting messages and posts via social media, toreach out to the largest number of females in the society, and spread the message.
The Breast Cancer Awareness Month, marked in countries across the world since October2006, helps to increase attention and support for the awareness, early detection and treatment, as s well as palliative care of this disease.The pink ribbon is an international symbol of breast cancer awareness. Pink ribbons and the color pink in general, identify the wearer or promoter with the breast cancer brand and express moral support for women with breast cancer.
