Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) in Abu Dhabi
Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) is continuing its Critical Care Refresher Series (CRS) of lectures, bringing the latest updates in critical care medicine to doctors in the UAE. Affiliated with the Emirates Society of Critical Care
, PanArab Critical Care Society, Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD) and SEHA, CRS lectures are delivered by the highest calibre of physicians in the country in the form of lectures and workshops, alongside symposium curriculum, and provide attending doctors with Continuous Medical Education (CME) hours that are mandatory.
Following the successful inaugural CRS session in acute cardiac care in April, the second in the series is set to take place on 28th September. SKMC, organiser of the series, is hoping to implement CRS as a permanent fixture for the medical community.
\"SKMC does much more than serve the community in providing high quality medical services to patients, we are an educational institute filled with physicians willing to take on the role of conducting education sessions in our free-time, in order to ensure all doctors in the country are operating at the highest possible levels with the most cutting edge information available,\" said Dr. Tarek Wahba, Specialist Physician in the Intensive Care Department and CRS coordinator at SKMC.
Critical care medicine is a branch of medicine concerned with the diagnosis and management of life threatening conditions requiring sophisticated organ support and invasive monitoring. Staying updated on techniques and education is crucial in order to ensure the best possible outcomes for critically ill patients in distress.
SKMC, managed by Cleveland Clinic, is part of the SEHA HealthSystem, and is owned and operated by Abu Dhabi Health Services Company PJSC (SEHA), responsible for the curative activities of all public hospitals and clinics in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
