Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) governor Tarek Amer left for London en route to Washington on Wednesday to attend the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World bank (WB).
Egypt is taking part in the meetings, to kick off on Friday, with a high-level delegation grouping the ministers of international cooperation, finance and planning.
The agenda of the annual gathering includes a number of seminars on global economy, international development, global financial system, developing infrastructure in developing countries as well as engaging young people in financing future of development.
The board of the IMF and WB governors meet once a year in September or October to discuss a number of financial issues.
