Finance Minister Amr el-Garhy will take part in the Spring meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, that will kick off on Thursday and run till April 24 in Washington.
A statement released by the Finance Ministry on Wednesday said Garhy along with Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Tarek Amer, who is also the IMF governor for Egypt will attend the meetings of IMF that comprises the governors of the central banks of the Middle East region.
The meeting will discuss the latest developments on the financial and economic fronts worldwide.
The finance minister will hold a series of meetings with major world banks, financial and investment foundations to expound the structural reforms carried out by Egypt. He will also meet credit ratings foundations such as Standard and Poor's and Moody's.
The Egyptian minister is also scheduled to take part in the G7 Group meetings to discuss means of bolstering cooperation with Egypt. He will also confer with a number of finance ministers in the Arab region and Europe on the fringe of his participation in IMF meetings in Washington.
