His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today met the Speaker of the US House of Representatives Paul Ryan (R-Wisconsin) at the US Capitol.

HRH the Crown Prince highlighted the deep-rooted ties between Bahrain and the US, adding that these bonds are based on shared values of openness and freedom. 
HRH the Crown Prince also highlighted the complexity of challenges that the region faces, and stressed the need to continue strengthening economic, legislative and security cooperation
HRH the Crown Prince said that no challenge is more pressing than the threat posed by extremist ideologies, while recognising the important role strong legislative systems play in supporting the global fight against terrorism.
