His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has received a cable of congratulations from Deputy Premier, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, marking His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s order to name the new city in the Southern Governorate after HRH Premier.
The “Khalifa City", bearing HRH the Prime Minister’s name, is a milestone which combines the Southern Town housing projects, linking Askar, Jau, Al-Dur and their suburbs.
Shaikh Khalid extended sincere congratulations to HRH the Prime Minister on HM the King’s order to name the new city after him in recognition of his landmark achievements and valuable contributions through his dedicated service to the nation.
HM the King’s order has had a great impact on the Bahraini citizens, in general, and those of the Southern Governorate, in particular, adding that the citizens of the Southern Governorate are waiting eagerly for HRH Premier’s visit to the new city to share with them the joy marking the Kingdom's celebrations of the anniversary of the establishment of the modern state of Bahrain as an Arab and Muslim country in 1783 by its founder Ahmed Al-Fateh, the 46th Anniversary of its accession to the UN as a full member and the 18th Anniversary of HM the King’s Accession to the Throne, he said.
The deputy premier asserted that naming one of the largest and latest cities in the kingdom after the Prime Minister reflects the great appreciation and respect he enjoys from HM the King and the loyal Bahraini people for his decades-long dedication in the service of the nation, and constant keenness on placing the interests and comfort of the citizens on top of everything else ever since the first Housing Ministry was established in 1975.
Shaikh Khalid affirmed that the Ministerial Committee for Urbanisation and Infrastructure, under his chairmanship, gives top priority to housing, in line with HRH Premier’s directives and interest in such a vital sector.
The deputy premier prayed to Allah the Almighty to protect HRH the Prime Minister so as to continue the progress march in the kingdom, under HM King Hamad’s leadership.
