Sharjah Ruler inaugurates Manuscripts House at Al Qasimia University

H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, will inaugurate the House of Islamic Manuscripts at Al Qasimia University on Thursday, 7th September.

The house, built in an Islamic style at a total cost of about AED70 million on an area of 3,000 square metres, contains 1,500 rare original manuscripts from the holdings of the Ruler of Sharjah.

Dr. Rashad Salem, Vice Chancellor of Al Qasimia University, said that the Manuscripts House will be the cultural monument in the region. He noted that H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed directed the establishment of the House because of his immense interest in manuscripts.

Dr. Rashad added that H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan donated four collections of rare Islamic manuscripts to the House.

He further stressed the importance of the Manuscripts House because it is useful to researchers and science students from all over the world.
