Sheikha bint Saif Al Nahyan receives Award from IHF General Assembly

The 37th edition of the International Hospital Congress concluded its scientific sessions today, with more than 2,000 participants registered for the past three days. Participants and attendees unanimously praised the immense role of Dubai as the heart of the Middle East and referred to the excellent organization and hospitality that they witnessed during the past few days. The topics that were discussed during the last day covered several topics including; Strategic Management of Cost and Improving Productivity of Health Institutions, Evaluating the impact of Healthcare Intelligence on Quality of Care in France - Do Hospital League Tables Drive Positive Change in Quality of Care, Improved efficiency in the Operating room reflects on patients and staff workflow as well as logistics within the entire hospital, Privatization of Health Care Services: The US Experience, MDR-TB Control, Management and Treatment in healthcare facilities: ethical duty and obligation to care, Improving Quality and Patient Satisfactions in ME Hospitals Through Accreditation, International Benchmarking Experiences for Effective Purchasing, Capacity Development to achieve "more health for the money": The GIZ experience, Resuscitating hospital management method, case study of HKC and Moheb Hospital and Public Private Partnership Model in the Healthcare Industry. At the end of the day, the participants had the chance to visit some of the private and public hospitals in Dubai through the hospital tour that the IHF - Dubai organizers and arranged. The tour covered the Thalassemia Centre - Dubai, the Dubai Cord and Research Centre (DCRC), The Cardio Centre in Dubai Hospital and Nad Al Hamar Medical Centre. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan Chairman of the board of trustees for H.H. Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan Foundation and H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan attended the IHF Gala Dinner that was held yesterday to honor, recognize and appreciate some of the UAE organizations and personnel who contributed to the prosperity of the health care sector in the world. The Gala Dinner was also attended by Khalid Al Sheikh, Deputy Director General of DHA, Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, the Chairman of the Global Scientific Committee - IHF, member of Governing Council and the Chairman of INDEX Holding, Dr. Jose Carlos De Souza Abrahao, the former President of the International Hospital Federation, Dr. Thomas C. Dolan, FACHE, C.E.O and President of the American College of Healthcare Executives and current President of the International Hospital Federation, Mr. Mohammed Al Zarouni, President of the Red Crescent Authority - Dubai branch and the Executive Director of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Est. The IHF General Assembly represented by Dr. Al Madani and Dr. Thomas Dolan granted the World Renowned Personality Award to H.H. Sheikha Sheikha bint Saif Al Nahyan, wife of H. H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan in gratitude for her outstanding contribution to the Health Care Community, Education and Research and for her contribution to the healthcare sector and supporting thalassemia patients and families. H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan received the Award on her behalf. The General Assembly also granted two awards for two of the most outstanding organizations in the UAE for their outstanding humanity and charity activities that contributed to the medical treatment and services to the children and adults all over the world and in addition to their continuous support in providing medical services to nations during catastrophe, disasters and war. The World Renowned Organization Awards were granted to the UAE Red Crescent Authority and to the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Foundation.
