Slovenian President Borut Pahor arrived at Cairo International Airport on Monday.
A delegation led by International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr along with a delegation from the Slovenian Embassy in Cairo were on hand to receive the Slovenian president upon arrival at the airport.
The minister conveyed the greetings of Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, hailing the economic ties binding the two countries.
The Slovenian president along with Nasr headed for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
President Sisi is expected to meet his Slovenian counterpart at the Ittihadiya Palace later in the day.
The two leaders will hold expanded session of talks in the presence of the delegations of the two countries.
The Slovenian president will meet with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal.
He will also attend the Egyptian-Slovenian businessmen forum in the presence of a delegation representing 13 Slovenian companies.
