Southern Governor Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa underlined the great care given by the leadership to the housing issue. He pointed out the fast-paced growth of housing projects in the southern governorate, citing mainly the strategic Southern City Project that is part of the royal directives to speed up the implementation of 40,000 housing units.
He hailed the tremendous efforts of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, to cater for citizens’ needs, pointing out keenness of the Southern Governorate to closely follow up on progress of the housing projects.
The Southern Governor was speaking during a visit to the Southern City Project where he was welcomed by Housing Minister Bassim bin Yaqoob Al Hamar and officials.
He inspected the housing units and listened to a briefing on progress in implementing the project which, he said, will cater for many demands in the Southern Governorate and reduce the waiting time for many applicants. He stressed the importance of the project, praising the architectural designs which reflect Bahrain’s inherent heritage. He added that the project will be one of the tributaries of urban development in the Southern Governorate and Bahrain.
The minister commended the unrelenting efforts of the Southern Governor to follow up on the housing projects carried out by the Housing Ministry to meet citizens’ needs in the Southern Governorate. He pointed out that the Southern City Project is one of the major exemplary housing projects currently implemented by the ministry. He underlined the ministry’s keenness to coordinate with the Southern Governorate to achieve citizens’ aspirations for a decent life.
In the VIP Visitors Book, the Governor expressed appreciation of the seven phases of the project and congratulated the beneficiaries.
