Minister Abdullah bin Faisal received Michele Cervone

Assistant Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Faisal Al-Doseri today received Head of the European Union (EU) delegation to Kingdom of Bahrain, Ambassador Michele Cervone d’Urso currently visiting the Kingdom.

The assistant minister praised the relations of cooperation and coordination between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the European Union, affirming keenness to strengthen these relations to achieve the common goals and interests of both sides.

The assistant minister reviewed with the Head of the European Union Delegation the efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Bahrain to address terrorism, reiterating the Kingdom's commitment to support all regional and international efforts to confront this phenomenon that threatens the safety and stability of the region. He noted the Kingdom’s cooperation with its partners, including the European Union, to achieve world peace.

The meeting highlighted the progress made by the Kingdom of Bahrain in sustainable development, promotion and protection of human rights and public freedoms. The assistant minister said that the Kingdom of Bahrain has taken advanced steps in promoting human rights, based on the reform approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to create a democratic society characterized by peace, development and justice. 

For his part, the head of the EU delegation praised the distinguished cooperation relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the European Union, stressing the importance of enhancing joint coordination between the two sides, especially in combating international terrorism. He valued the reform and development efforts in the Kingdom which has been widely praised in several international forums.

The meeting also discussed regional and international developments.
