London - Arab Today
Following the result of the UK referendum, the Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament have expressed their regret but also their respect for the choice of the British people.
S&D MEPs will continue working hard for a more integrated European Union and clearly state they want the United Kingdom as a partner if they agree to comply with EU laws.
The EU must now define its new relationship with the UK as it has to define a new political agenda to reinforce its cohesion, with a special focus on the upcoming social challenges: ending social dumping and unfair tax competition, fighting austerity with a stability and growth pact, and establishing a proper relocation system for refugees.
Interview with S&D vice-president, Enrique Guerrero Salom.
