His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa AL Khalifa received here today the Executive Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Russian oil company, Rosneft, Igor Sechin, who is currently on a visit to the kingdom.
The meeting discussed cooperation between the two friendly countries in the field of oil, given the fact that Rosneft was among the first Russian companies to show interest in operating in Bahrain.
HM the King was briefed by Igor Sechin about the company’s operations all over the world.
HM King Hamad reviewed with Igor Sechin the friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries, and ways to bolster them in the economic, trade and investment fields.
HM the King welcomed cooperation with Rosneft, stressing that the two countries are constantly looking forward to opening up new horizons of joint cooperation at all levels for their common interests.
HM King Hamad underscored the crucial role played by the oil and gas sector in supporting and developing the national economy, highlighting keenness to consolidate cooperation between the two countries in this field through exchanging visits among delegations and availing of the agreements signed between the two countries to launch new joint ventures that benefit the two countries.
HM the King highlighted his visit to Russia and its positive and important results, including the strengthening of bilateral relations, especially in the trade, economic and investment fields.
