Minister of Immigration and Expatriate Affairs Nabila Makram asserted that Egypt was keen on helping and supporting Egyptian expatriates despite the fact that there are not any official figures on the number of expatriates and illegal immigrants.
Member of the Egyptian-British Parliamentary Friendship Society Yassmin Abu Taleb said after a meting with the minister that the ministry's main objective is to serve Egyptian expatriates and help them resolve any problems they might face.
The minister asserted to the parliamentary delegation that Egyptian expatriates should be involved in improving the image of Egypt abroad and stand against any attempts to tarnish their country's reputation.
The minister has recently launched an initiative in coordination with "Misr el Kheir" charity foundation to train villagers in the governorates exporting illegal migrants on the concepts of national security.
The initiative was launched in cooperation with Nasr Military Academy to increase awareness of youth during their trips abroad and how they could protect themselves against wrong and fabricated thoughts.
