Seoul: 'North Korea appears to fire missile from Submarine'

The South Korean military said Saturday that North Korea fired what appeared to be a ballistic missile from a submarine, the Yonhap news agency reported.

Seoul's Joint Chiefs of Staff couldn't confirm if the launch was a success, Yonhap reported. Earlier this month, Pyongyang's launch of a Musudan medium-range missile from its east coast failed.

North Korea conducted its fourth nuclear test in January and launched a long-range rocket in February, prompting the UN Security Council to impose its strictest sanctions ever on Pyongyang.
