The armed wing of Islamic Hamas movement, known as al-Qassam Brigades, on Thursday warned against Israel's retaliatory attacks on the Gaza Strip that were launched as a response to rockets' firing.
A masked spokesman of the group, surrounded by also masked Hamas militants, told a news conference in Gaza that any "stupid" steps taken by Israel would invite strikes on its own towns, as well as other targets.
He also said that their battle against occupation is open-ended regardless of time or changes on the ground.
The Gaza Strip has witnessed a growing tension between Israel and several militant groups, which fired more than 80 rockets, mortar shells and projectiles from the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip into Israel.
In response, Israeli war jets and helicopters carried out dozens of intensive airstrikes on militants training facilities, mainly Hamas and Islamic Jihad, where three militants were killed and more than 25 civilians injured.
The growing tension in West Bank, which first erupted on June 12 when three Israeli teenagers were kidnapped and killed, continue to expand after a 17-year-old Palestinian teenager from east Jerusalem ended up in the same tragic destiny as that of the three Israeli teens.
The Hamas armed wing condemned the killing of the Palestinian teenager, saying Israel has a bloody history of killing Palestinian children.
In 2012, Egypt brokered a cease-fire deal between Hamas and Israel, ending an eight-day Israeli large-scale aerial operation on the Gaza Strip that left 180 Palestinians and six Israelis dead.
