There are significant opportunities to strengthen the economic and investment cooperation between companies and institutions in the UAE and Tajikistan, Mohamed Thani Murshid Al Rumaithi, Chairman of the Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI), has said.

While meeting Sharifi Bahodur Mahmudzoda, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the UAE, Al Rumaithi said the UAE companies, institutions and the private sector possess expertise in carrying out major projects in many sectors. They have a track record and wide network of international relations that spur the implementation of infrastructure and development projects in Tajikistan, he added.

Al Rumaithi noted that the leaders of the two countries were keen to provide resources to bolster mutual cooperation, especially with regard to supporting the private sector and businessmen to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

He stressed the desire of many UAE companies to invest in Tajikistan and to identify laws and regulations that govern foreign investment. Clarity about these laws and regulations will contribute to attracting UAE investments by companies and businessmen to Tajik markets, and expedite the implementation of development projects.

Further, Ambassador Mahmudzoda called on the UAE companies and businessmen to increase their investments in Tajikistan and harness the vast opportunities available in his country, particularly in infrastructure and development projects.

He also invited the chairman and Board of Directors of the ADCCI to visit Tajikistan, and to learn about investment opportunities and the environment, especially in the areas of infrastructure, energy, agricultural and food production.

The meeting was attended by Mohammed Hilal Al Muhairi, Director-General of the ADCCI, and Ghurair Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Deputy Director-General of the Chamber.
