Arab League calls for end of Israeli violations at Al Aqsa Mosque

The Arab League has called on the international community and the United Nations to immediately intervene to stop Israel's grave violations at the Al Aqsa Mosque and its attempts to change the historic status quo.

In a statement it issued on Monday to mark the 48th anniversary of the arson attack on Islam's third holiest shrine, the Arab League condemned Israeli violations in both Islamic and Christian places of worship.

The statement denounced Israel's settlement policies, its forced eviction of the Palestinian people, and confiscation of their properties and lands.

''Establishment of the Palestinian independent state on the borders of 4th June, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital is the only viable solution to the Palestinian question,'' the statement affirmed.
