Astana - Musimchronicle
The main international event of the energy sector, XI KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum, on the theme "Creating the Future Energy," will be held on 7th and 8th September, 2017, in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
The forum will be organised by the KAZENERGY Association with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It will be one of the key events under the international specialised exhibition 2017 Expo's theme "Future Energy" held in Astana between 10th June and 10th September, 2017. In addition, it will continue the dialogue started at the ministerial energy conference "Ensuring Sustainable Energy Development" and the 8th International Forum on Energy for Sustainable Development, held successfully in the capital of Kazakhstan from 11th to 14th June, 2017, under the auspices of the UN regional commissions.
The forum’s partners include large international organisations such as the International Energy Agency, the International Energy Forum, and the International Renewable Energy Agency as well as transnational oil and gas and energy companies.
The programme of the XI KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum will be aimed at discussion of issues and problems connected with the effective management of sustainable energy sources; control over production, storage and use of energy sources; provision of access to the energy sources; climate change and reduction of carbon dioxide emissions; stimulation of the use of alternative energy sources; introduction of energy efficiency programmes, "smart" energy; and innovative development of uranium and the nuclear industry by world energy companies.
The key speakers will take part in interactive discussions on the themes "Energy Transition: Security, Availability and Sustainability" and "Future Energy: Change and Strategy Factors."
"The forum traditionally attracts the interest of the governments of world countries, international energy organisations, diplomatic missions, Kazakhstan and foreign energy companies, research institutes and consulting agencies. The event will provide an opportunity for its participants to comprehend the current situation in terms of the key challenges of the future energy and should contribute to the development of optimal strategies of national and international companies in the field of sustainable development," Bolat Akchulakov, General Director of KAZENERGY Association, stated.
"Challenges that energy is currently facing are changing the direction of activities in this sector on a global scale, increasingly striving for efficiency. Now, more than ever, such factors as the selectivity of investment projects, competition for new opportunities and reduction of capital expenditures are important. In this, the timeliness of the relevant decisions taken by the government and also the degree of their predictability plays an important role," Akchulakov noted.
