Emirati women play an important role in empowering society

Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy, has stressed the importance behind celebrating Emirati women's achievements as a milestone for the empowerment strategy initiated by the late ruler, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The minister's statement was made during a speech marking the occasion of Emirati Women's Day, launched by H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, with this year's theme being 'Women are partners in giving'.

"Emirati women have accomplished a great many strides across various sectors, with the support and vision of the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces," Suhail Al Mazrouei added.

He elaborated on the great role H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak has played to provide all forms of support to Emirati women and enhancing her status, making the UAE a global model for women's empowerment.

"The Ministry of Energy plays a significant role in empowering women through its commitment to providing a creative and innovative environment to enhance women's participation to empower society further.

"We strive to provide a positive and stimulating work environment that supports female employees, while also helping them to balance their professional and social life, giving them the full confidence to harness their scientific and practical potential as an important partner in building the nation," Al Mazrouei concluded.
