The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) discussed ways of implementing the Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan 2017 to assist the Yemeni people cope with difficult conditions as a result of the war waged by the coup Houthi militia against the civilian population.
Mohammed Al Ketbi, Director of ERC in Aden, and Tahir Ibrahim, Director of OCHA in Aden, met in Aden on Saturday, to explore methods of cooperation and coordination to deliver humanitarian assistance to the Yemeni people.
Al Ketbi spoke about humanitarian projects the ERC is undertaking in partnership with other humanitarian organisations to maintain security and stability in the liberated cities.
''The ERC is also setting plans to bring life in these cities to normal,'' he added.
The OCHA official lauded the humanitarian efforts being exerted by the ERC to relieve the Yemeni people.
He also commended the ERC's efforts to help the internally displaced people by providing them with safe shelters.
Earlier, Al Ketbi met with representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Aden to discuss the possibility of implementing projects that serve the Yemeni people.
