ERC signs agreement to establish health unit in Rabwa Khalaf, Hadramaut

The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, today signed an agreement to establish and equip a health unit in Rabwat Khalaf in the district of Al Mukalla in Hadramaut Governorate, Yemen.

This agreement is part of the UAE’s continuous support, under the directives of the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to improve the level of health services and support infrastructure projects in Yemeni governorates.

After the signing of the agreement, which was attended by Awad Salim Bahanhan, Deputy Director-General of Health in the Hadramaut Coast, and Mohamed Ali Al Jahri, Director of the Health Office in Al Mukalla, Ahmed Al Nayadi, Head of the ERC Team in Hadramaut, confirmed that the rehabilitation and maintenance of the Rabwa Health Centre is part of its efforts to ease the health and humanitarian burdens on Yemeni citizens, and support families and provide necessary medical supplies to hospitals and government centres, as well as to rehabilitate local faculties and provide modern equipment.

He also highlighted the desire of the ERC to restore and maintain the local health building and provide it with medical supplies, with the aim of receiving patients within 45 days.

Bahanhan praised the ERC’s considerable support to the various services sectors in the governorate, including the health sector, while stressing the importance of maintaining and renovating the health building to become functional as soon as possible, in order to receive local patients from Al Mukalla. He also highlighted the importance of starting the maintenance and renovation of the building.

Al Jahri thanked the UAE, which is represented by the ERC, its humanitarian arm, for its efforts in supporting infrastructure projects in the governorate of Hadramaut, and rehabilitating its health centres.
