Dr. Maytha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State, yesterday visited the UAE pavilion, organised and supervised by the National Media Council, NMC, at the EXPO 2017 Astana in Kazakhstan.
She was accompanied during her visit by Dr. Mohammed Ahmed bin Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Hamad Ali Al Kaabi, Minister of State and UAE Permanent Representative at the International Atomic Energy Agency in Austria.
During her visit, she reviewed the content of the nation’s pavilion, which reflects the vision of the wise leadership and the considerable attention provided to national human resources, as the cornerstone of achieving sustainable and comprehensive development in all sectors.
She praised the outstanding design of the pavilion, and the sections and technologies that reflect the nation’s advancement and its achievements in all areas, with an emphasis on the noble values of the UAE community and the country’s leading role in developing international projects and initiatives that encourage renewable energy while promoting its position as an international centre, to develop sustainable solutions in this area.
The minister also lauded the efforts of the Emirati volunteers who received, welcomed and guided visitors, adding that these young volunteers are the ambassadors of the country, who perform a key role in serving and providing a civilised and bright image of their country, and about its values such as tolerance, co-existence and openness to the world.
The UAE pavilion at EXPO 2017 Astana is an ideal platform where people can learn about the UAE’s strategy to guarantee energy security, as well as its efforts and leading initiatives and projects in the field of energy, both locally and internationally.
