H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, honoured the Ajman Police yesterday at the ministry for winning the Global Performance Excellence Award (GPEA) of the Asia Pacific Quality Organisation (APQO) for Not for Profit Organisations, as well as for winning the Human Resources Prize, presented by the Human Resources Excellence Organisation in the UK. The event was attended by Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, along with Brigadier Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, the Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police.

H.H. Sheikh Saif praised the efforts of the Ajman Police, stressing that police work is a cornerstone of civilisation and development, and does not only represent preserving safety and security. H.H urged the members of the Ajman Police to continue working to improve their performance, in order to maintain the international reputation of the UAE police, and move forward in developing their services, in line with the vision of UAE leadership in the promotion of security.

Brigadier Al Nuaimi emphasised the keenness of the Ajman Police to continue to provide excellence in offering the best services to the public.

He praised the support and directives of H.H. Sheikh Saif to ensure the excellence of government operations, particularly in the Ministry of Interior, which is considered to be a strong incentive to all employees to continue their work to achieve excellence when performing their duties.

He also affirmed the support of H.H. for the security departments throughout the UAE, which encouraged the outstanding development in the ministry based on a clear vision to make the UAE among the safest countries in the world.

The Ajman Police were recognised as being among exemplary institutions of world class quality performance. They won the Global Performance Excellence Award, modeled after the "European Foundation for Quality Management Award".

The award is given only to an institution which has already won the national quality award in its home country, and which has passed the rigorous final screening by the GPEA Council.
