Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman sought to pre-empt a misunderstanding over SoftBank Chairman Masayoshi Son’s use of the phrase “two Meccas.”
Speaking at a landmark investment summit on Tuesday, Son said that with the launch of a $500 billion mega city in Saudi Arabia, there would be “two Meccas” in the kingdom.
Prince Mohammed quickly jumped in, pre-empting the fact that many may not understand that Mecca also implies a country’s focal point or hub, not just meaning the Saudi holy city.
