Cairo - Arab Today
Egyptian actress Hanan Motawie said that she was pleased to work with Tunisian actress Hend Sabry in their new TV series "Halawet El-Donia" (Sweetness of World), scheduled to be aired in Ramadan 2017.
She added, "I am happy to participate with beautiful actress Hend Sabry in Halawet El-Donia series, which hopefully would achieve great success, especially as it would be a comedy TV show."
Motawie told Arabs Today that she accepted to work in Halawet El-Donia series because she always wanted to play a comedy role, and she was excited to work with director Hussain Shaukat and a group of brilliant actors including Zafer El-Abidin, Anushka, Amina Khalil and others. The scenario will be written by Tamer Habib and produced by Mohamed Mashish. She pointed out that they will start shooting by the end of this month, so as to be ready in Ramadan.
Motawie revealed that she will participate in another series with Egyptian actor Hani Salama, director Raouf Abdul Aziz and producer Ahmed Abdel Atti. The director works currently on choosing the rest of the cast to start shooting in the next few days. She said that author Hassan Dahshan has already finished writing half of the episodes which is scheduled to be aired in Ramadan 2017.
In regard with her absence from movies, Motawie said that she focuses on TV series, especially as the recent movies were not suitable for her. She preferred to play completely different roles in TV series. She asserted that she plays two different characters in the new series Taqet Nour (glimpse of light) and Halawet El-Donia, as she always seeks to present new characters.
Motawie noted that there are many series which are considered as a turning point in her career, notably "Wanus" TV series, which is considered the most important work in her career so far. The series which was aired in Ramadan 2016 had achieved a significant success. She said that she did not expect that success, but it was a grace of Lord, adding that her character was very difficult and complicated. Motawie said that she hopes to work again with Egyptian icon Yahia El-Fakharany and actress Hala Sidqi, whose participation encouraged her to participate in that series.
Motawie supported the idea of airing TV series away of Ramadan, pointing out that Ramadan is a holy period which does not suit with a lot of TV series. She also refuses the idea of airing a lot of works only in Ramadan, while the rest of the year lacks good TV works. She noted that the Egyptians started to watch Indian and Turkish series because of the decline of Egyptian works throughout the year, in contrary to the past.
In regard with playing the lead character, Motawie pointed out that she does not care about this issue, especially as the collective leading characters system has succeeded significantly. She added that the most important thing is the cooperation between all the participants in the series, so as to present it properly to the public.
Motawie spoke about her husband, theater director Amer EL-Yamani, saying that he is such a good husband, and she asks God to preserve love and compassion between them.
