Chairperson Samir Haliba

Board of Egyptian football team of Al-Masry expressed its insistence on playing their matches in the coming season in their stadium in the coastal city of Port Said. They threatened to submit their resignation from their position if their request has been refused from Egyptian Football Federation (EFF).

Chairperson of Al-Masry Football Club Samir Haliba expressed his appreciation to the fans of his team who were supporting their team in Port Said Stadium during the final match of Egyptian Cup, saying that they presented a civilized image of Port Said’s people. He added that they have not committed any violation although their team lost the final against Al-Ahly.

He blamed the decision to deprive the team from playing in Port Said, saying that they paid large amounts of money in camps and hotels to play their matches outside Port Said, although they have their own stadium in the Egyptian coastal city.

He stressed the administration’s ability to secure the matches in Port Said, saying that the fans attend the trainings and friendly matches and they are keen not to commit any violations. He expressed his confidence that the administration will be able to secure the matches in cooperation with security forces.
