Frosty rain forests, glacial folk art and freezing abstract interpretations are all on the design menu this winter for the 25th edition of Sweden's famous Ice Hotel.
Sketches of the suites at the prestigious Jukkasjärvi location have been revealed, spanning a wide spectrum of art and design.
Ideas range from Eastern European folk art to suites inspired by clockwork and the Baroque and Gothic architectural eras.
"Time Piece" resembles the inner mechanics of a clock, while "Prime Mate" will see the icy space transformed into a tropical rain forest. Meanwhile a printing press provided the inspiration for the suite "Hot Type."
This year's Ice Hotel will display hand-carved rooms by 42 artists from 11 different countries, in addition to an ice church, ice bar and a majestic Aurora hall theater.
The hotel will open for the season on December 12.
